274日間をかけて船で世界一周を楽しむ。そんな“世界最長のクルーズ”と呼ばれる「アルティメット・ワールド・クルーズ」が始まった。およそ9カ月もの船の旅は、どんな毎日が待っているのだろう？

早速、そんな日々の様子をTikTokで紹介し、たった2週間でフォロワー数が100人から15万人まで増加した“新入りのインフルエンサー”の生活を紹介しよう。

274日間で60か国以上をめぐる旅

「アルティメット・ワールド・クルーズ」は、世界最大規模のクルーズ会社、ロイヤル・カリビアンが企画したものだ。12月10日に米マイアミを出港し、274日間をかけて南極大陸、中国、オマーン、スペイン、メキシコなど世界60カ国以上に寄港する。ロイヤル・カリビアンのウェブサイトによると、このツアーの代金は5万3999ドル（約780万円）から。アメリカの平均給与5万9428ドルとほぼ同じ金額がかかるという。

フォロワー数が1500倍に急増！

そんなツアーには、いったいどんな人が乗り、どんな毎日が待っているのだろうか。乗客650名のうちのひとり、アンジー・リンダーマンは、船上での日々をTikTokに投稿し、クルーズ前には100人しかいなかったフォロワー数が、わずか2週間で15万人まで急増している。

アンジーは母を乳がんで亡くしており、自身も乳がんや卵巣がんにかかるリスクが高いといわれるBRCA2遺伝子変異を受け継いでいる。2023年には予防的乳房切除をした。自身のがんリスクを受け、「“いつか”はやって来ないかもしれないから、やりたいことは“いま”するべきだと思った」と話しており、この船による世界一周の旅に参加することを決意したそうだ。

旅の目的はコミュニティを見つけること

兄家族５人とともにこの船に搭乗しているアンジーは、この旅を「ハイブリッド一人旅」と呼んでいる。ひとりで過ごす気楽さと家族との時間、両方を楽しめるようだ。

そして彼女が、これほどの長期間にわたる船の旅を選んだ理由のひとつは、コミュニティを見つけることだという。「７日間や10日間のクルーズとは違い、ここでは友だちができて、人とのつながりが生まれる」と語っており、すでに同じように一人旅する人とも出会い、共通する趣味のグループの会合などにも出ているそうだ。

また宿泊しているクルーズの部屋には、身の回りのあらゆるものを整えており、まさに“彼女の家”となっているようだ。以前からフリーランスとしてリモートワークしていたそうで、朝はジムに行き、船で移動している日は仕事をしており、「私は9カ月のバケーションとは思っていない。これは私の人生なの」と話している。

そんな彼女のTikTokには、「私もいつか乗りたい」「よい旅を楽しんで」などと好意的なコメントがあふれている。

@angielinderman Day 16: Sea Day (12/25/23)  Merry Christmas!  Today was a good day, it did not feel like a traditional Christmas for me, but I think that was good.  Got an early start to the morning, thanks to Tequila shots from the night before. But it did mean that I caught a beautiful sky early this morning. I got myself a little breakfast sandwich and coffee and got the morning going.  We crossed the equator today, which was cool, we did a circle while out at sea, but there was no dotted line so that’s a bummer 😉. But it was fune being out on deck with other passengers and just generally being excited about the change from Pollywog to Shellback. This is my third time crossing the equator by sea!  I spent some time on deck, and later Santa made a visit and passed out presents to the kiddos, it was really fun to see the excitement the kids all had. Attempted to play Pickleball but realized that the others in the tournament had played before and even knew the rules which was more than Lindsey and I, so we played mini-golf instead. It was fun, but the wind made it tricky.  I spent some more time outside reading, caught the World Cruise Choir, and then spent a little time resting in bed watching GBB, again. Had dinner with the fam in the dining room, then caught a show with some friends. @angielinderman Day 15: Sea Day (12/24/23)   Today I woke up and got ready with a little extra Christmas flair. I went to our book exchange, which was so fun. Then I went to a Sushi making class with fellow passengers. As someone who does not like rice or fish, it seemed like a weird invitation to accept, but I decided I wanted to try. I really enjoyed the whole experience and tried all the sushi I made. I did not eat it all, I shared it with LRB, but I am so glad I did it! After I got some fries because I was still a bit hungry, then went out by the pool and knitted for a while listening to my audio book my Paris Hilton. Then meet up with my knitting ladies, for an hour or so working. Went to the centrum to hear the kids’ choir, they were so fantastic! I got ready for dinner, then joined some of the families for dinner. @angielinderman Day 15: Sea Day (12/24/23)   Today, we had a book exchange for those who wanted to participate. It was something one of the passengers organized in the FB group for anyone who was onboard for Christmas. We used an app where we put in a few book options, then were randomly assigned someone else and had their wish list.

@angielinderman Day 14: Devil’s Island on the plan, bonus sea day (12/23/23) I woke up and I saw an island out from my window, I don’t know if it was Devil’s Island or one of the other islands nearby, it will remain a great mystery of my life. When I was getting breakfast, I found out we were not stopping today, I was not able to hear the announcement in my cabin, so I did not know. I had nothing planned for the island, I was just going to walk around so I was not to bummed, but I know other people were. But this is just part of it. There are going to be places we are not able to dock in due to weather or timing or many other things. This was going to be a tender port which are also more difficult so that played into the decision as well. So, after breakfast I did some work in the library, when that was done I sat in a nice quite spot and knitted for a while and listed to the Paris Hilton book in my Libby app. Then a quite lunch, and more knitting with my knitting ladies. I joined some of the families for an escape room type of game, without the room. It was like a murder mystery kind of thing where you must solve the clues. We would have one, but we seconded guesses ourselves, and got our answer card back, and someone else turned theirs in when we were double checking ourselves. We should have just trusted ourselves. I went back to my room and watched some of the Crown and did Christmas cards for a few people onboard. Had dinner, went to a show, and on the way back saw the Christmas party was kicking off. I was not feeling it so I came back to my cabin to watch more of the Crown and knit some more. @angielinderman 13: At Sea (12/22/23) Today was a quiet day, but a busy day. I started by heading upstairs for breakfast, then to the gym to get in some movement. Then I got dressed and did some work. I headed to a lecture by our captain about the arctic and antarctic seas and what to expect, then worked some more. I had lunch, this was the first time where I struggled to find anything I wanted, so I settled on an apple and PB. I did more work, took a break to go to my knitting circle, which I lovelingly call Stitch and Bitch, which is what I call it at home with friends as well. There is very little bitching going on, it’s just a fun, relaxing hour. @angielinderman Day 12: St. George’s, Grenada (12/21/23) Had a nice breakfast and then got some work done, cause real like stuff is still happening even while in cool places. Headed out for a day at a resort that I was given in exchange for some content, this is my first time doing that and it was cool, more on the experience later. Driving through the town made me think of Freetown, Sierra Leone with the hills, jungles, and building styles. It made me miss my friends, being stuck in traffic in a Landy, listening to music! Got back to the ship and my nieces and I had a wonder around the ship and then had a little “spa” day in my cabin. @angielinderman Day 10; At Sea Today was a weird one, oddly full while I also felt like I did not do anything. Up early and after breakfast I went to the gym to get some miles in and a little bit of arms. Came back to my room to get cleaned up and ready for the day. I did some work, and then, the weirdest thing so far. I had interviewes with organizations to talk about the cruise, TikTok blowing the F up, and BRCA. This was definitely not on my personal 2023 bingo card, but I’m trying to roll with it. Had a little lunch, then met up with some other Ultimate Real World Cruisers to talk about the insanity of it all, and make a little video. Met up with a lovely fellow passenger whose daughter and step-daughter found me on TT, and it was such a refreshing chat, so thankful to Joanna and Amy for making the connection. @angielinderman Day 11; Bridgetown, Barbados (12/20/23) This morning I woke up to some lovely birthday decorations on my cabin door, courtesy of my sweet sister-in-law. I got ready for the day, had a little breakfast and then got a little work done. Made sure I put on sunscreen, then headed out, but we had a brief delay and then we were on the way to the beach. Spent the day on the beach and it was beautiful, supper clear water, we could see fish swimming around us, it was fun! We had a little afternoon shower but I just stayed in the water because it was still warm, and I was going to get drenched anyway. Made our way back to the floating home, got ready for dinner and enjoyed a dinner with the families.
